Recently, BJP Government in Gujarat brought a bill to make voting compulsory for the election of local government bodies. I think this move should be welcomed by one and all. If one does not vote , he loses the right to complain for bad governance. Gujarat Government is also contemplating to add a none from above option in the voting machine. So, this way citizens can express their dislike for all the candidates in the fray.
BJP people are saying that is is a historical decision. Well done, but, I have a suggestion too. Take one more historical step. Make election compulsory in your organization too , please !
Nitin Gadakari became the BJP President. He is not an elected president but, selected one. He has been selected by one or two people from RSS. Nitin is not a familiar name in national politics till now. He never show any specific skills for this elevation. He is just an obedient boy of Sangh leaders.
Selection is became a rule in BJP. From, block level to national level , everywhere you will see selected people are holding top post. They all are handpicked from a coterie of people who are known as high command. see the mockery , the people who are running an organization which has to rule democratically, never observe democracy on their own. They believe that people can be imposed from the top. Feelings of number of party workers is not important, any one who have done base work for the party is not qualified, you have to be just an obedient boy for high command. No matter if common people do not know you, no matter if party workers do not know you, only thing that really matter is that high command know you.
We know that there is not internal democracy in the Congress too. So, BJP could become an example for the Congress. But, here what we are seeing is that BJP is following congress in rejection of internal democracy in the organization.
If parties are running in autocratic way, this autocracy will be automatically reflected in their governance also. We can see the example in Gujarat itself.
BJP has taken a revolutionary step in Gujarat by way of compulsory voting so, it should take another revolutionary step by making internal elections compulsory in organizational set up.

They unite for rights, not for duty
Recently, employees of Government of Gujarat united to hold a rally and a public meeting at Ahmedabad. The Modi government did every effort to fail this agitation. Major political leaders who have supported this agitation have been arrested. Every road toward the Ahmedabad and the meeting place have been blocked. Vehicles have been detained on highways on one or another pretext. Yet, employees gathered at the spot and showed an impressive strength.
ok. thats fine. But, this employees could get sympathy on common public ?
My assumption is that the answer is NO.
why ?
Because, government employees have lost faith and sympathy of common people. Common people just hate this employees. No one is like to pay a visit to a government office and meet this employees. People have to pay bribe for very small and simple jobs. This employees will make you go and go and visit and visit every table and one office to another office if you do not pay them their bribe. sometimes, a work which can be done in couple of minutes takes months instead. They are not so inefficient but they tends to be inefficient if they are not being rewarded. A common man's application will not be proceeded for months but, influential people always find it easy to get their work done , even without any application in some cases.
This is the harsh reality. Leaders of employees union also know that how their fellow are working and how they misbehave with common citizen who is actually the real pay master.
These employees have united for their pay anomalies and other things. Why they do not unite for their. Is there any system that common citizen can complain to a union leader about corruption or delaying tactics of a certain employee ? What these unions do for increasing efficiency in government machinery
Government just takes decisions but , success or failure of this decisions rely on how employees are doing their work. Do this unions ever take oath that no citizen will have to suffer in any kind of government business and every employee will work efficiently and politely with common people ? Unions have strength to gather maximum number of employees for rallies and public meetings but, they did not have strength or motive anyway to eliminate corruption and arrogance among there fellow employees.

Election without issues
Campaigning is in full swing for 15th loksbha election. But, I could not found any issues which are being raised up in this election. I am perticulary talking about Vadodara. No candidate is talking in terms of what he will going to do in next five years for Vadodara. Everyone is campaigning about their party's iedology, their party's candidate for prime ministership and so one.
Vadodara is lagging behind in development race. Ahmadabad and Surat did better than Vadodara. This Sanskarnagari is facing infrastructural bottlenecks.
There are no proper roads, no proper rain drainage system. no fly overs to cut short the traffic problem. There is a lack of sanitation. City is not getting adequate water supply and no one has any plan for next 25 years.
Industrial pollution is a big issue in Vadodara. But, no party is ready to accept this. Number of self finance colleges and schools is increasing. It makes education costlier and costlier. But, no one has reply for this situation.
