Corona or no corona, Mask would be a fashion and a social need !

ladies will shop for matching masks, Schools will have uniform masks, Political masks for leaders, Occasion relevant masks for common people will be available

A parent received a call from the school.
“Your son didn’t wear a mask today. This kind of indiscipline like a sundry school will not be tolerated here.  The uniform is the status symbol. Don't you know that? You have to pay the fine five times higher than the actual price of the mask as prescribed by the school. Understand? ”
“No madam, Please check, I confirmed the mask when he boarded the bus. May be lost somewhere on the way. But, even in that case an extra mask in his school-beg also. We instructed him to wear the other one in case he lost the first. Please check!”
“What please? I never said that he didn’t wear a mask at all. I intended to say that it was not as per given instructions. You must be aware that as per school uniform policy, the purple-colored mask should have dark pink stripes in the background with a symbol of a yellow star on the top left corner of it.”
“Madam, please check again, it is the same as you have said”
“Oh, don’t argue, a mask purchased from any ordinary shop will not be considered. Ours is a high-status school. I will send you an address. Purchase a minimum of 3 masks from there. Get us a bill copy along with the student. Only that will be valid. If the student will come to the school tomorrow without that particular mask, we will hand over the one from the school itself. But, In that case, there would be an extra penalty.”
Coronavirus scare has made people join the queue to get a mask. We Indians are so much enthusiastic about standing in queues that we will rush to purchase masks only to enjoy queues. The pleasure of joining a queue along with friends, relatives, and neighbors is very much important. Mask will be just an excuse.  Having proof of joining a queue could be included as proof of citizenship here. It could end many debates.
Advertisers who prefer cheap auto-rickshaw advertisements over costly hoardings may turn to masks as a new platform. Then you will be surprised to see a sign of ‘420 Bidi’ on the mask of a familiar person and that will prompt you to ask,
“ Since when you did start this?”
A quick reply filtered with the mask will be heard. “Just 3 days before. Superb response.”
“What response? Your lungs will respond soon. Do you often miss that anti-tobacco advertisement in the movie? You should reach on time then. ”
“that's your misunderstanding, I didn’t start consuming Bidis. One Bidi trader has started to sell masks with printed advertisements. I will receive Rs 10 every day by sending a selfie with the mask on different locations. Enough for my daily tea bill. Would you like to join? ”.
“Shameful. Don’t you know about the harmful effects of Bidis? You are advertising a toxic for just a few bucks.”
“Why? So many big stars are doing Gutkha advertisements. First, ask them. I am a star in my own world. So I have started with Bidi”
You have no option but to move away from there thinking that those stars must be wearing some masks when they are preaching about health care or posing for photos of working out to be shared on social media.
This could be a moment of realization for you that Corona or no Corona, but masks are always necessary as we all have multiple roles to play in real life and sometimes we also have to act.
Netizens use various smileys and Emojis on Social Media. Can’t we continue that practice with masks also?
People use Emojis of a smile, a cry, loud laughter, and anger while chatting. We can have different Emoji masks for different occasions. A college principal could don a mask showing anger all the time, a boss in the office could wear a mask of a loving face, a heroine could have a blushing mask during her film promotions, then our leader will have real peace of mind as they could wear so many smiles during an appropriate occasion. Supporters always wear face-masks of their favorite leader but now common people could also buy some ‘political smile’ masks if needed. Then we will have all the smiley faces around us.
We need to attend obituary meetings often even without feeling sad but just to fulfill a social obligation. It is not easy to get sadness on the face immediately. So how about a sad expression mask?
Plain white cloths make us remind of some obituary meeting. So we have very limited boring colors for masks. Why? Can we have more colors on our faces in the form of masks? Why ladies could not get matching color masks according to their attire.
Then we could hear a dialogue in a Saree shop: “Look, I will not make any adjustment in terms of color or shade. I require exact matching. Otherwise, I will change my choice of saree accordingly."
The sales-man, of course, wearing his smiling mask, will say, “madam, believe me, this is the most suitable color, a real designer piece. I challenge you to find this color at any other place. I will return you a double amount for that. I am a man of words.”
Coronavirus will come and go. But it will create a huge market of masks for different occasions and various needs. Then a mask will not be a medical device only, it will be a ‘life-supporting system on its own. It will kill the virus of hypocrisy forever. What say?
